Kwankwaso Denies Accusations Of Misconduct

The former governor of Kano State, Senator Mohammed Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has denied accusations of misconduct by the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that the governor is splitting the party.
Mr. Kwankwaso visited Abdullahi Ganduje, his successor, in the town of Ganduje on Monday to offer condolences after the governor lost his mother. However, the Kano State APC accused the former governor of organizing a “violent rally” during his visit. According to Kano State APC Chairman Umar Doguwa, Mr. Kwankwaso exhibited “acts of indiscipline which should not be allowed to go unpunished.”
The “violent rally,” according to Mr. Doguwa, was organized in order to abuse the governor and President Buhari.

Inside Saraki’s Latest Legal Maneuvers To Frustrate Corruption Trial

SaharaReporters has unearthed a fresh plot by Senate President Bukola Saraki to frustrate his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT). Mr. Saraki has been charged with false asset declaration and other financial crimes.  Saraki's lead attorney, Kanu Agabi
Mr. Saraki’s latest effort to thwart his trial began to materialize today when the Code of Conduct Tribunal granted him a weeklong adjournment after his legal team, led by former Attorney General of Nigeria, Kanu Agabi, claimed that he had filed a submission at the tribunal on March 4, 2016, challenging the tribunal’s jurisdiction to try the senator for corruption.
In a curious twist in today’s proceedings, neither the Secretary of the CCT nor the prosecutor, Rotimi Williams, was aware of the ostensible motion. Court processes require that all the parties to a case, as well as tribunal officials, must be informed of the kind of critical submission Mr. Agabi claimed he had filed.
Instead, a highly placed judicial source told SaharaReporters that Mr. Agabi’s so-called filing was illicitly handed to the tribunal judge, Danlami Umar, in Saudi Arabia where he had gone to observe the lesser hajj. Mr. Umar arrived back in Nigeria last weekend.

Ever since I gained knowledge of the word ‘RAPE’ and came to know what the word actually denoted, I have held the belief that rape can only be committed by a man and it’s an indisputable fact that a lot of people hold the same belief.
However, recently I was in a discussion with some friends and the word rape hit my mind, the argument which ensued that day is the reason for writing this article.

TRIBUTE TO OUR FALLEN HEROES

TRIBUTE TO OUR FALLEN HEROES
TRIBUTE TO OUR FALLEN HEROES

I stood and watched as a mother cried,
When she had heard that her only son had died.
He didn’t die because he was sick,
Or because he was in a wreck.
He died doing what he felt was right.

I watched a father trying to hold back his tears,
His son had lived only a scant 19 years.
His son had died nine thousand miles away,
And what was there left for a father to say?
He got down on his knees and said a prayer,
His brave son knows his father did care.

I sat and watched as a wife wailed in grief and sorrow
She got married to her husband some months ago
She couldn’t believe her husband could go so soon
She lamented and mourned
All the promises he made to her are now on hold
Her husband had died fighting for peace to rein.

I moved some meters away and saw a girl
Crying profusely and her hands on her head
She had heard that her father had died.
Looking at the little girl’s tears I knew,
That her father died fighting for the safety of You and me
